Hello, folks! Welcome to my diet page. I started on January 4, 2005, and I have a goal of losing about 50 pounds this year.

First, though, my intermediate goal is to lose 20 lbs by March 11. The reason I have to lose 20 lbs by then is that I am entered into a group wager at work. Each participant puts up $50, and sets a weight loss goal. If we make our goal by March 11, we get our money back. If anyone doesn't make it, he forfeits his cash to be split among the folks who did make their goal. Now that's incentive!! We chart our weight daily on a sheet posted up in the office, so there's extra incentive right there. (Well, we actually plot the "delta", or change in weight, not our absolute weights.)
